Fiction for the Cosmically Disturbed is a publication featuring personal essays on how horror helps us understand, heal from, and grow beyond the horrors of real life. These pieces are informed by my background as a Splatterpunk Award-winning author and lifelong fan of the genre and how those things intersect with my life as a family man who has struggled with mental illness. Horror is a genre that works on the physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual levels, and it affects us differently throughout the different phases of our lives. Thinking about all that keeps me up most nights, so I write about it. If it keeps you awake too, you’ve come to the right place.

These essays are always free to subscribers, and I try to post them as regularly as I can. However, I do sometimes get pulled away to write books. When that happens, my posts will be shorter and more focused on my works-in-progress. By that I mean I’ll write about things that are currently inspiring me, places in the book where I might be stuck, and any helpful epiphanies.

A free subscription is also the best way to receive updates on upcoming book releases, so if you found this Substack because you read Saint Sadist and want to know what else I’m working on, hi! Keep up to date by clicking that button.

If you wish to be a paid subscriber, holy crap! Thank you!

Here’s what you get for $5 a month:
