I wrote this sometime in 2021-22 but never shared it. I had initially hoped to make it an illustrated book for adults, and I still might, but for now, it stands on its own as a piece of flash fiction. It’s very COVID-coded, though there’s no pandemic to be seen. You’ll see what I mean, or you won’t. That’s the beauty of fiction, right? The subjectivity, baby! We bring all our personal baggage to the art we consume.

In my free essays, I write about how horror helps us heal, understand, and feel seen. In my horror stories, I hope to help my readers heal, understand, and feel seen. My stories live behind the paywall because they offer deeper insights than the essays (and, frankly, take a bit more effort). Essays are always free. Stories are a $5 a month subscription (or $50 for the whole year).
