Less Than Pulp, Issue 6
“Dandelion wine. The words were summer on the tongue. The wine was summer caught and stoppered...sealed away for opening on a January day with snow falling fast and the sun unseen for weeks.” - Ray Bradbury
Hi. I’m Lucas Mangum and this is the sixth issue of Less Than Pulp, a newsletter for fans of my work. You can check out previous issues right here.
It’s hot here in Central Texas. I don’t remember it being this hot last year, though I imagine it must have been. Going outside is crucial to staying well, but it’s been hard to with the heat like it is. This week we fly to Pennsylvania, where it will be slightly cooler. Maybe that will help.
We’ll be staying up that way for a month. It will be good to see my brother, my mother, and old friends. We moved almost 9 years ago and so much has happened since, but it feels like it’s only been a blink. Time is funny like that.
On the writing front, DIGITAL DARKNESS goes up for preorder tomorrow. The book will be available in hardcover, mass market paperback, and e-book. A few weeks back, I shared the hardback and e-book cover. Below is the mass market paperback image. The art is by Jim Agpalza, but the design and manipulation were done by me in Canva. Keep an eye out for the preorder announcement on my Facebook and Twitter pages, or watch this space.
Right now, I’m reading ICON by Regina Watts. It’s a creepy book with an unreliable narrator and deals with celebrity obsession. She’s one of the hardest working authors I know, and this book is expertly crafted. You can grab it here.
On the latest episode of MAKE YOUR OWN DAMN PODCAST, Jeff and I took a look at A NYMPHOID BARBARIAN IN DINOSAUR HELL. You can check it out here or by playing the video below.
That’s it for now. Be on the lookout for the DIGITAL DARKNESS preorder in the meantime, and thanks so much for subscribing. Please consider sharing as well, as it really helps.
Thank you.
