Thanks for that slice of life from the Mangum family, Lucas. With most of today's writers focusing almost solely on their writing and books in their newsletters (I'm guilty of that sometimes), it's refreshing to see what the true foundation of your inspiration and creativity is. As I'm fond of telling folks, family always comes before the writing business. If it's the other way around, it soon leads to disaster. I also enjoyed the Halloween mummy story. I have a similar Halloween tale where me, my brother, and cousin were led into a living room to encounter a creepy (drunken) clown who bestowed us with homemade popcorn balls. Yikes!

Thanks for reading and taking the time to comment. What you say about family rings true. History is rife with examples of creatives who ruined their personal relationships for the sake of the art or the business. While some of them left interesting works behind, I think their successes were in spite of their personal faults and not because of them. Poe was a brilliant writer, but definitely not a role model! That clown story sounds like quite an experience.

Thanks for reading and for the kind words! Losing time is a real thing. I think it still happened when I was younger, but I'm more acutely aware of it these days.
